Specializing in sports medicine, trauma, and reconstructive surgery Dr. Marc Aiken is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. A native of Starkville, Mississippi, Dr. Aiken received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University, and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi in 1983. He completed his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
With a passion for trauma care both in the United State and abroad, Dr. Aiken had travelled around the world, completing mission work and teaching students about trauma care, as well as fracture fixation techniques and procedures. He has donated time, implants, and instruments to improve orthopedic trauma care in numerous countries around the globe, such as Russia, Romania, Haiti, Trinidad, Mongolia, Brazil, China, Africa, and more.
Since 1995, Dr. Aiken has served as the sports medicine physician for the Masters Water Ski Tournament at Callaway Gardens, Georgia, providing care for the top water skiers in the world. He is also the team physician for the United States Ski Team.
Dr. Aiken has practiced in Johnson City, Tennessee since 1988, where he resides with his wife, Laura, and their children, Alan and Emily. In his free time, Dr. Aiken enjoys sports, woodworking, auto restoration, waterskiing, church activities, and traveling.
