Dr. Robert DeTroye grew up in Wisconsin and received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine in 1986. He completed both his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
Board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. DeTroye has a special interest in shoulder problems and their treatment using arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques. As an expert in sports medicine, Dr. DeTroye treats fractures and sports-related injuries in the young and young at heart, as well as arthritis of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He also serves as the team physician at Milligan College and Daniel Boone High School.
Dr. DeTroye lives in Washington County with his wife, Melinda, with whom he has three boys. When he’s not working, he enjoys hiking, camping, biking, bird watching, and woodworking.
